Nutrition Counseling

Initial visit: An hour long visit.  During this session we will discuss your nutrition history, medical history, weight history, and general behaviors.  You will go home with general guidelines, meal ideas, and if needed referrals for other services.

Follow up visits:  Also hour long visits.  Follow ups are particularly helpful for sustaining motivation.  The timing recommended for follow up visits will vary depending on the individual.  Dietary changes can be very difficult to make as our habits are instilled in us from an early age.  Following up can really help with long term success, sustaining motivation, and for digestive health patients finding a nutrition plan that is really going to work to control symptoms.

Individual counseling is provided for a wide range of clients. Jennifer has experience with:

  • Gastrointestinal disorders including inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD: Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), gastroparesis, celiac disease, fatty liver disease, post-intestinal surgery, post-bariatric surgery with or without GI complications, eosinophilic esophagitis, and others.
  • Heart disease/atherosclerosis
  • Cholesterol lowering
  • High blood pressure
  • General healthful eating and wellness
  • Family wellness including streamlining family meal planning and troubleshooting multiple special diets in a household, increasing nutrition in family meals, transitioning your family to a healthier way of life.
