Nutrition Counseling

What To Expect

Meeting regularly at first can be particularly helpful if you are feeling ready to dive into making some changes. Ongoing accountability and support has been shown to help cement behaviors into regular habits!

Initial visit: 50 minute virtual or phone appointment.  During this session we will discuss your nutrition history, medical history, and general behaviors.  Client needs differ, and our session is driven by your needs.  All my clients get an e-mail visit summary including important action items.  They may also receive: handouts when education is needed, recipes, food lists, referrals to other health care practitioners or for lab work when needed.

Follow up visits:  Also 50 minute virtual or phone appointment.  Follow ups are particularly helpful for sustaining motivation and/or delving into complex issues.  The timing recommended for follow up visits will vary depending on the individual.  Dietary changes can be very difficult to make as our habits are instilled in us from an early age.  Following up can really help with long term success, sustaining motivation, and for digestive health patients in particular finding a nutrition plan that is really going to work to control symptoms.  Again, clients will receive an after visit e-mail summary with any action items and resources that would benefit them we discuss in-session.
